My very first true anime crush was actually from a manga. A pretty good manga to (its on the Otaku's Favorites list) The manga was a parady of the original book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I'm little bit obsessed with the idea of Alice in Wonderland. Actually, my favorite characters of that show were the Dormouse, the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, and, of course, the Cheshire Cat. Stupid cat.
Anyway, how I came into contact with this manga is simple. I bought a manga from a book store, (Chibi Vampire) and when I finished it I looked at the back of the book. The back of the book had ads. One of the ads I saw was for this new manga Alice in the Country of Hearts. At the time I was a little new to manga, and didn't know about online manga. AKA, Mangafox.
When I did find out about online manga, it had been a few years since I last come into contact of the manga. Actually, I was looking up The Mythical Detective Loki which I have seen the anime, (awesome) but haven't read the manga. My Internet access was extremely limited back then. So, after another year I met a friend who loved manga just as much as me. She had read Alice in the Country of Hearts and showed it to me. Everything came back and I read it that very weekend. The entire series.
After I was done I had my favorite characters and my hated characters.
List:
Like-
Pierce Villiers (dormouse)
Elliot March (march hare)
Dee and Dum (twins)
Dislike-
Blood Dupre (mad hatter)
Alice Lidell (alice)
Peter White (white rabbit)
Ace (knight of hearts)
Neutral:
Vivaldi (queen of hearts)
Julius (clock master)
Mary Gowland (um, I don't know what he does, the Amusement Park keeper I guess)
And then there was that one charcter that I like more than any of the rest. Boris Airay. Better known as the Cheshire Cat. I adored him. I thought he was adorable, sweet, mischievous and everything in between. My very first anime crush. Before this manga I watched a LOT of anime. I never had an anime crush though. And yes, there were cute guys in those shows. Heck! After watching Vampire Knight basically EVERY girl fell for Zero! A good 87% I'd say. I saw it. Course I liked Zero, quite a bit but it wasn't classified as an official anime crush.
Since I was SO in love with him I just HAD to BUY the first TWO volumes of the next manga series called Alice in the Country of Clover: Cheshire Cat Waltz. That one mistake destroyed it FOREVER! If you read it, I think you know. I'm NOT going to explain it no matter HOW much you want me to.
And so, my first anime crush ended tragically, and my many anime hates was joined by one more. So heartbroken that my love turned to hate. I was so heartbroken that those to new Alice mangas I got I never looked at again let along read.
Moral of this, never have an anime crush that is in love with another character. It will just end badly. AND the only reason I wrote this is because I have never written anything like this and had nothing else to write about.
Tell me about your first anime crush! I can't be the only one, like seriously.
Well. Since no one wants to comment on this one, I'll do it myself. BLAH bleh blah BLAH!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooking back at this I realize one. main. thing.
ReplyDeleteThis is stupid. He's not real, and never will be. Most likely. Can't tell the future.
Wow, this post was so extremely stupid. Did I ACTUALLY write this?!
