Anime Review: Humanity has Declined

I do believe that I did an anime review on Amnesia before. And every time is a good time for advertisement of one's own blog. Oh ho ho ho! Click HERE if you would like to read that! TROLOLOL.
Scratch that... That was one of my first ones and it kind of....sucked. So. Yeah. After that one, they got better because I started getting serious about them.

Anywho. Humanity has Declined  is an anime produced by AIC A.S.T.A and licensed by Sentai Filmwroks and the Anime Network. It was originally a manga that was written by Romeo Tanaka that was turned into an anime. The main character is known as the Heroine voiced by Mai Nakahara. (hence, the reference to Amnesia)  Sometimes she is referred to as "watashi" or "I", Ms. Sweets, and the Mediator.  It is said she is referred to as "I" because it is mostly her telling the story. She is the character whose eyes you look through. You don't switch to different points of view at all unlike most animes, and you can always hear her telling the story and hear her thoughts. Never the other characters. The same format that is used in Tsuritama while Yuki tells his story. (that's the next review I'll do. I loved that anime! So cute!!)

Time for a plot summary!

All I really have to say is that the anime goes along the same way as Sunday Without a God goes along. It's slightly different though. The point of this anime's continuous stories is just to be entertaining. Kind of like K-On! but with more sense. It's not about cute girls doing cute things (moe genre) but is more as telling the life of the Mediator (heroine) and her life dealing with the new human race. The new human race being the new race that is on the top of the food chain. The fairies, or the new human race, run free now. The mediator is the connection between the dwindling humans and the new race that flourishes so quickly, is smart, and strangely self sustaining with a need for a monarchy and sweets. She can tell you all about that. That's all it is, really. In episode intervals of 2 or 3 at a time, they tell a small story of how the mediator deals with the town and the problems the fairies cause. The first one was about a chicken and hair. Trust me when I say this, it's pretty interesting. It can be serious, and is also really funny. I like it quite a bit. Also since I kind of rambled on this here is a short version. As humanity declines a new race called 'fairies' takes their place. No real solid plot line just a series of stories that tell the happenings of fairies and the Mediator.

The soundtrack was rather pretty in my opinion. Super upbeat but also rather mysterious and thoughtful in reference to the ending theme song. The opening song more shows the overall feel of the anime and is just really happy and cute. It even has it's own little weird dance that you'll probably be doing on the third, if not second episode. That song is called "Real World" by Nano Ripe. The ending song is rather unique as well, resembling it's more confusing aspects like the fact the world is post-apocalyptic. This song is called "My Dream Within a Dream" by Matsumo Ito. The music is great and works well with the anime. The graphics are not over the top A-MA-ZING, but they don't really need to be in this case. Since the characters are not really doing anything drastic or jerky like things, the intense graphics would not be needed. (example would be a idol group anime where their dancing all the time like AKB0048 or an anime that consists of a lot of fighting scenes like SOA whose graphics was amazing by the way!) The art is likable as well as it's characters.
And about those who might have read this earlier, I've edited it now! Yesh. Woot woot! Choo, choo train of awesome coming through!! Ehem. Either way, I liked this anime overall a LOT. Loved it even. Definitely one of my favorite animes in this genre.
